State Selects SAFEbuilt Colorado
Another Uncommon Achivement: SAFEbuilt Colorado is approved for State Building Inspections.

In the state of Colorado, there are only a very few firms that have been authorized by the SBP to handle code review consulting for state agencies—SAFEbuilt Colorado is proud to be among them, and to act as the only approved code review agent north of Denver.

The State Buildings Program (SBP) was established July 1, 1998 to set up building codes for all construction by state agencies on state-owned or state lease-purchased properties or facilities.

For state agencies undergoing new construction or renovation, the SBP applies a code compliance policy to projects falling within certain guidelines.

The intent of this policy is to coordinate the efforts of state personnel in charge of construction management to ensure that building codes are met, construction plans are accurately reviewed, and buildings are inspected in a standardized way.

Each state agency is responsible for making sure that its own construction projects comply with codes regarding structural stability, life safety, minimum standards and environmental health.  Agencies are also responsible for procuring the necessary inspections and submitting appropriate documentation.

The SBP stipulates that state agencies do this either by going through the internal process of the state program or by enlisting an SBP-approved private firm to complete the review.

To become an SBP-authorized inspection contractor, a qualified firm must demonstrate an understanding of the procedures, policies and submittal requirements mandated by the SBP Code Compliance Review process.

With four offices, SAFEbuilt Colorado is able to provide code review, plan review and inspections for state agencies throughout Colorado.
