SAFEbuilt, one of the nation’s leading contract providers of building department services for public agencies, is adding an office in Shallotte, North Carolina. Jason Walker, the former Director of Planning and Inspections for Holden Beach, will be heading up the SAFEbuilt Carolinas office.
“SAFEbuilt offers expert building department resources and tools that small communities in North and South Carolina didn’t have access to before,” says Walker. “Our model allows smaller communities to maintain control over their building department functions and turn what was once an expense into shared revenue.”
Walker has over 15 years of experience in the construction industry, serving as a building inspector for 12 of those years. His expertise includes numerous North Carolina Code certifications and International Code Council (ICC) certifications as well as in-depth local knowledge of the Carolinas.
SAFEbuilt provides full-service building department services, building code plan reviews, complete project support and building code inspections for cities, towns, counties and state agencies. Government agencies often look to outsource all or part of the building department function because fixed costs can be converted to variable costs.
SAFEbuilt’s corporate office is in Loveland, Colorado, with operations throughout Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Washington and Arizona and has 60 employees.
